Jar works with Osgoode Hall on an innovative multimedia installation
September 07 2011
Jar Creative has been awarded the contract to provide the design of a state of the art multimedia exhibit to be featured in Osgoode Hall’s new building facilities at York University.
Osgoode Hall Law School, an internationally renowned educational institution and leading centre for legal scholarship, is currently undergoing a major renovation project that includes the complete rehabilitation of the current building and an addition designed by Diamond and Schmidt Architects. Simultaneous to this is the launch of the “Osgoode History and Archives Project”—a “living history” that aims to preserve Osgoode’s past and advance research into the School’s legacy of leadership and nation-building through the display of artifacts, archival materials, and interactive exhibits.
One of the exhibit spaces within the renovated building is the History Niche, located off of Gowlings Hall and adjacent to the Library. The proposed design for the History Niche combines bold signage and graphics, artifact display, and interactive/ multimedia elements to create an engaging space that captures the attention of passing students and encourages them to engage with the rich history of the school.
Jar will be providing the multimedia components for “Building Osgoode”, “Catalysts” and “Share your Story” features of the interactive exhibit in conjunction with touch screen technology partners, Unikron.
