These questions will help you make an informed decision by outlining some “red flags” to look for when choosing an agency partner.
- Has the agency asked probing questions about your business and clients or have they spent most of the time pitching themselves?
- Is the entire agency team on site or are they primarily a sales office that outsources execution?

project will actually be accomplished?
- Does their pricing have integrity in that it’s based on a clear set of requirements or is it lacking in details that justify the final cost?
- Does the agency have a dedicated contact (project/account manager) or is a “creative”
person managing your project?
- Do they talk about strategy and positioning or are do they talk about designing
something that “looks sharp”?
- Does the agency have experienced graphic/web designers in house or are they marketing
consultants that leave you asking “now what?” with regards to execution?
- Is there a consistent quality to the agency’s work examples or does it seem like a
hodgepodge of approaches and styles?
- Is the agency willing to provide references from credible clients (ie. not a friend or family
member) or are their testimonials attributed to “Victor H. – Toronto”?
- Are they trying to ensure the relationship is a good fit or do they seem more focused on
getting a cheque?
